On January 22, 2025, an important event took place at the memorial complex “Khatyn”. Archpriest Pavel Yatsukovich, rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in “Khatyn”, consecrated the museum building and offered prayers for the health of all the employees of the memorial complex. The service was held in front of the ancient icon of the Mother of God "The Sign", which is a historical artifact of the museum.
The icon of the Mother of God "The Sign" was transferred to the funds of the State Memorial Complex "Khatyn" in 2008. Since the opening of the museum, it has occupied a place of honor in the first hall. The icon is a symbol of hope and faith that unites generations.
This event became not only an act of spiritual blessing, but also a symbolic and significant moment in the life of the memorial complex.
