On March 19, 2025, State Memorial Complex "Khatyn" will host the opening of the exhibition "...The War Could Not Take Only Love". This exhibition project brings together rare materials from the war and post-war periods, revealing the theme of memory, art and human feelings in war conditions. The exhibition includes photographs, documents, personal belongings of the architect Leonid Levin, one of the creators of the memorial ensemble "Khatyn". Visitors will see touching children's drawings that he sent in letters to his father at the front. The exhibition pays special attention to front-line letters written more than 80 years ago, which became a symbol of hope, the connection between soldiers and their families. It is the front-line letters that help us to understand the tragedy of war and the power of love that can overcome any trials. For the first time at the exhibition, visitors will see the doll that Leonid Levin gave to his daughter after receiving the Lenin Prize for the creation of the memorial ensemble "Khatyn". This touching exhibit symbolizes not only family values, but also how historical events are intertwined with personal destinies. Personal belongings and documents presented at the exhibition will help to reveal the inner world of the master, his connection with history and the memory of the people. Even in the most difficult times, a person retains the ability to love, feel and create.
The project will be of interest to a wide range of visitors, including historians, art critics, students and anyone who values the heritage of the past.
We invite representatives of the media, the public and all interested parties to attend the opening of the exhibition.
