The event is organized by the Fund “Bridge of Generations” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The screening of the films is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazi Germany and will be part of a large-scale cultural and educational program aimed at preserving historical memory, patriotic education of youth, and supporting veterans.
The “Movie Break” festival brings together young filmmakers who create short films on the theme of the Great Patriotic War. The special feature of the competition program is the close interaction of the authors with direct witnesses and participants of those events. This helps convey lively, sincere stories, promotes the formation of a dialogue between generations and counteracts the distortion of historical facts.
The film screening in Khatyn will be part of an international campaign covering about 1,500 populated areas, including Russian cities and sites in the Republic of Belarus — Minsk, Brest and memorial complex “Khatyn”. According to the organizers, the total audience of the festival will be up to 150,000 people.
We invite everyone who cherishes the memory of the Great Victory to take part in this important and touching event.
