An exhibition prepared jointly with the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents and the Museum of the History of Belarusian Cinema - a branch of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus - is opening at the State Memorial Complex “Khatyn”.
The exhibition is dedicated to the premiere of one of the most powerful and tragic films about the war - "Come and See" by director Elem Klimov.
The exhibition, entitled “Look and Remember…,” is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the film’s release. It is not just a tribute to the great film – it is a profound and emotional statement about the war through the eyes of a child, about memories that cannot be forgotten, about the truth that must be fought for.
The film, shot in 1985, became an artistic and human feat. Its path to the screen was long and difficult: closed three times, subjected to strict censorship, it was still released - not softened, not adjusted to the norms, but as the director conceived it. At the exhibition, visitors will learn how this film was born - with real explosions on the set, with non-professional actors, with the story of a boy who became an old man in one war.
Visitors will see unique photographs from the set, pages of handwritten scripts, old posters and much more.
This exhibition is for those who want to understand and not forget. "Look and remember..." is a call to each of us!
