A new exhibition will open in Khatyn on March 26

25.03.2026

As part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between State Budget Cultural Institution “Bryansk State Museum of Local History” and the State Institution “State Memorial Complex “Khatyn”, a new exhibition will open on March 26, 2026, in the "Good People, Remember!..." exhibition pavilion on the memorial grounds.

The exhibition project "Dulag-142. Bryansk's Buchenwald" is dedicated to the tragedy of Soviet prisoners of war and civilians who perished in the Dulag-142 concentration camp during the Nazi occupation. The camp was located on the grounds of a former repair base in s. Uritsky, in the area of what is now N. Shchors Boulevard on the outskirts of Volodarsky District of Bryansk. Dulag-142 was the largest place of forced detention in Bryansk region; approximately 80,000 Soviet citizens passed through its barracks, at least 40,000 of whom died from the intolerable conditions.

The camp existed from October 1941 until the end of summer 1943. Because a closed military enterprise reopened on the former camp's grounds after the liberation of Bryansk, this bitter chapter of history remained unknown to the general public for a long time. Excavation work is currently underway, and preparations are underway to create a museum and memorial complex.

The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The opening will take place on March 26, 2026, at 12:00.
