Memory of Khatyn: visiting lectures and virtual excursions for young people

23.01.2025

On January 18, our employee conducted a virtual tour at the memorial complex “Khatyn” for students of  Minsk College of Entrepreneurship.

She told in detail the history of the memorial and the architects who put hand to its creation. She also did not pass by the new museum, to which she invited their group and teachers. She answered all questions of interest, including those concerning the work of a tour guide, since the lecture was held for tourism students.

On January 23, 2025, researchers from the memorial complex “Khatyn” visited the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 60 of Minsk”, where they held a lecture "Khatyn. Tragedy and Memory" for 8-10 grade students. The children were interested in learning more about the tragedy that occurred in Khatyn village and taking a virtual tour of the memorial complex and museum exhibition. During the lecture, schoolchildren learned about the events that preceded the tragedy and how Khatyn became a symbol of all the burned villages and the genocide of the Belarusian people. The virtual tour enabled the children to immerse in the atmosphere of the memorial, see its architectural elements and understand the meaning of each of them.

We are glad to see how the younger generation shows interest in history and strives to preserve the memory of tragic events. We continue to pass on knowledge about the Khatyn tragedy and its significance for our country, so that we never forget and prevent a retry.
