The head of Russian delegation, Artem Nikolaev, said that he and some of his colleagues are in Belarus for the first time, but despite this, they make feel at home here.

On the importance of a visit to Khatyn:

— It is fundamental and important for us, in honor of the celebration of our joint Great Victory, to carry out the appropriate work to preserve the memory and truth about the Great Patriotic War, so that the younger generation remembers the sacrifice made by the Soviet people in the name of defeating fascism throughout the world, — said Artem Nikolaev.

It is gratifying that the younger generation honors the memory and strives to learn the truth about those terrible years for our people. It is gratifying that history is not forgotten and is passed on from generation to generation, preserving the memory of the heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War.
