Memory of Khatyn: Visiting lectures for youth

14.02.2025

This week, the staff of memorial complex “Khatyn” held a series of visiting lectures in schools in Minsk and Luban district.

These events were aimed at preserving historical memory and fostering patriotism in the younger generation.

Lectures and Topics:

  • Zagalye secondary school, Luban district: Lecture "Khatyn - a shrine of national memory" for 6th grade students
  • State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 82, Minsk": Lecture "Khatyn - the pain and sorrow of the Belarusian people" for 7th grade students.

The students learned about the events that preceded the tragedy in Khatyn and how this memorial became a symbol of all the burned villages and the genocide of the Belarusian people. The virtual tour enabled the students to immerse in the atmosphere of the memorial, see its architectural elements and understand their meaning.

We are glad to see how the younger generation shows interest in history and strives to preserve the memory of tragic events. We continue to pass on knowledge about Khatyn tragedy and its significance for our country, so that we never forget and prevent a repetition.
