The exhibition presents rare documents, letters, photographs, and drawings from the war and post-war years from the personal archive of Leonid Levin, his parents, and his daughter Galina.
The letters from the front read by Logoisk gymnasium students were written more than 80 years ago by the Levin family. Letters from the front were the only source of communication between soldiers and their families. These letters are not just paper, but real witnesses of the era. They are filled with longing for their loved ones, hope for Victory. These lines were written more than 80 years ago, but their tenderness and emotionality can be felt even today. It is through them that we can understand the price people paid for the opportunity to love, wait, and believe.
One of the most touching exhibits of the exhibition was a doll that Leonid Levin gave to his daughter after he was awarded the Lenin Prize for the creation of the memorial ensemble "Khatyn". This exhibit symbolizes the continuity of generations, the inseparable connection between family and memory, which is passed on through the years.
The main idea of the exhibition is to show that the war took away many things: lives, cities, villages, hopes and dreams, but it could not destroy one thing - Love. Love for family, relatives, one's country, one's culture - it was this feeling that enabled people to survive and preserve humanity in the most terrible times.
"We wanted to show that even in the conditions of war and tragedy, there is still room for the brightest feeling - love. This is what helps us overcome trials and remember the most important things," noted Galina Levina during the opening of the exhibition.
The exhibition "War could not take only Love" will be open to visitors at the Memorial Complex “Khatyn”. We invite everyone to touch history and feel the power of the human spirit, love and memory.
