5000 km long route of memory.
The expedition, the total distance of which will be five thousand kilometers, began on May 9 at the memorial complex "Saur-Mogila" of the Donetsk People's Republic. The first point of the route was the Brest Hero Fortress - a symbol of unbending courage, which took the first blow of the war in 1941. A 350-kilogram banner made of special polyester silk will accompany the participants along the entire route through 14 cities of Belarus and Russia.
Of particular importance was the visit to the memorial complex "Mound of Glory", where the participants unfurled the world's largest Victory Banner measuring 35 meters in height and 65 meters in length - like a 10-story building! This grandiose canvas weighing 350 kg became a visible embodiment of the memory of the feat.
The Victory Banner was accompanied by honorary guests: Alexander Voloshin, Senator of the Russian Federation, Alexander Lukyanov, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Ilyasevich, Deputy Chairman of Minsk Regional Executive Committee. The participants laid flowers at the monument, honored the fallen with a minute of silence and secured the flag on the slopes of the Mound.
“This is not just fabric – this is our response to those who are trying to erase the feat of our ancestors,” say the organizers.
After the Mound of Glory, the expedition members went to Lepel, continuing their journey through places of military glory.
