In "Khatyn" - "For Peace"

09.09.2025

On September 7, 2025, memorial complex “Khatyn” was visited by guests from Brest region. When asked by the complex staff: "Where are you from?", the tourists proudly answered: "We are "For Peace"!

The agricultural enterprise "For Peace" is located in agro-town Stradech, Brest district. Before the war, there were 280 households and about 1,500 residents in agro-town Stradech.

During the Great Patriotic War, at least 3,010 households were burned down by the Nazi occupiers in Brest region, and over 7,700 civilians were killed. More than a thousand people were taken to Germany. The remains of about 10,000 civilians and servicemen tortured and killed by the occupiers rest in the mass graves of Pribuzhye.

Stradec shared the tragic fate of Khatyn. During the years of occupation, 212 households were destroyed, 92 civilians were killed, 22 natives of the village died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, one in a partisan detachment.

However, despite the tragic events, the settlement was revived after the war. Today, JSV "For Peace" is one of the leading farms in Brest region, which specializes in the production, processing and sale of agricultural products.

During the visit, the workers of the agricultural enterprise "For Peace" spoke with special trepidation and respect about their native settlement, its tragic history and the monument that was unveiled on the territory of the burnt village at the end of July 2025.

Belarusians remember the tragedies of the war years.

Belarusians honor the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.

Belarusians value life under a peaceful sky.

And it is very symbolic that in "Khatyn" today the words are heard: "We are for peace!"
