A bright and kind tradition in Khatyn

20.01.2026

Every year, on the great feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, a prayer service is held at memorial complex “Khatyn” before the ancient icon of the Mother of God “the Sign." This bright and kind tradition imbues the museum space with a special spiritual meaning, uniting memory, faith, and hope.

On January 20, 2026, Archpriest Pavel Yatsukovich, rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos at memorial complex “Khatyn”, consecrated the museum building and offered prayers for the health of all the complex's staff. The service was held before an ancient icon—the museum's historical and spiritual treasure.

Since the museum's opening, the icon of the Mother of God "the Sign" has occupied a place of honor in the first hall, greeting visitors as a quiet yet profound symbol of faith and hope. It seems to connect the past and the present, a reminder that even in the most tragic pages of history, there is always room for light and spiritual rebirth.

The annual Epiphany service at "the Sign" icon reminds us of our spiritual roots, the importance of preserving historical memory, and the need to cherish peace in our hearts.

We sincerely congratulate everyone on the feast of the Epiphany of the Lord and wish you peace, kindness, warmth, and God's help in all your good deeds!
