A lecture entitled "The Emotional Space of Khatyn" was held for students from Koren Secondary School in Logoisk District. During the lecture, the students took a virtual tour of the museum, which opened in March 2023, learned updated information on the criminal case concerning the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, and recalled the tragic events that occurred in Khatyn in March 1943.
At Logoisk Secondary School No. 1, memorial complex staff met with seventh-grade students. During the informational hour titled "Khatyn – a Sacred Site of National Memory," the students immersed into the past of Logoisk district, learning about the centuries-old history of Khatyn village and the tragic fate of its residents during the Great Patriotic War. Particular attention was paid to the theme of lost childhood. The students learned about the children who survived the horrors of war and the importance of cherishing peace and preserving the memory of those who died for our future.
Such lecture events are aimed at preserving historical memory and fostering patriotism. By developing an interest in the history of their country and people, and by learning about its tragic pages, the younger generation is instilled with a desire to preserve the memory of military events to prevent their recurrence.
