For the first time, visitors are presented with unique materials from the personal archives of Khatyn residents: time-worn photographs filled with warmth, love, and human kindness. A special place in the exhibition is occupied by birth certificates indicating their place of birth— Khatyn village. Once a small, little-known Belarusian village, today it is a world-famous memorial commemorating the victims of the Great Patriotic War in Belarus.
The exhibition opening took place in a special, heartfelt atmosphere. Among the guests were relatives of eyewitnesses to the tragedy, for whom the memory of Khatyn is part of their personal family history. A key moment of the event was a performance by members of the military-patriotic club "Honor" from Minsk. The children recited poems dedicated to the memory of the village residents. Their heartfelt, emotional performances imbued the event with particular depth and poignancy.
The photo-documentary exhibition "Fate Gave the Happiness of Living..." is a living story about the people who became the guardians of the memory of Khatyn. Through the lives of specific families and individuals, the tragedy of an entire people is revealed, as well as the strength of spirit and the value of life.
The exhibition reminds us: the memory of Khatyn is not only a mourning for the past, but also an important moral lesson for the present and the future!
