The Travel HUB "Commonwealth" International Tourism Forum is a platform for interaction between government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the business community working in the tourism industry of the Commonwealth of Independent States, with the aim of increasing tourist flows and raising the profile and appeal of the cultural and tourism potential of the Commonwealth countries.

On April 7, 2026, a roundtable discussion entitled "Patriotic Tourism and Cooperation of CIS States in Preserving Memory and Educating Future Generations" was held at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.

The roundtable was attended by parliamentarians, experts from the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation, heads of memorial complexes from the Commonwealth of Independent States, cultural figures, historians, and representatives of the CIS tourism industry. Participants discussed the idea of creating a unified patriotic route for the CIS countries, the use of modern technologies, guide training, and the joint work of memorial complexes.

As part of the event, SMC “Khatyn” presented its experience in international cooperation and patriotic education of the population.

The discussion participants agreed to continue work on creating a unified database of patriotic routes in the CIS countries, develop the exchange of methodological materials, and consider the possibility of developing an interstate program to support youth patriotic tours.

Following the roundtable discussion, Dmitry Viltovsky, Director of State Memorial Complex “Khatyn”, and Elena Malysheva, Director of the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation, signed a cooperation agreement that envisages the exchange of exhibition materials, joint scientific and practical conferences and exhibitions, the development of patriotic-themed inter-museum routes, and the implementation of educational programs for young people.

"This strategic partnership will enable us to scale up existing projects and create new ones to preserve historical memory, using the most effective practices and experience of the Republic of Belarus and regions of the Russian Federation." Elena Malysheva

The parties plan to devote special attention to countering attempts to falsify history. The agreements reached will foster cooperation at a qualitatively new level and contribute to the education of future generations based on shared historical values and the memory of the heroism of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.
