Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia Igor Krasnov visited Memorial Complex “Khatyn”

09.06.2026

Igor Krasnov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, is visiting Belarus on June 9-10. The delegation's itinerary includes a meeting with Andrei Shved, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus; the signing of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the supreme courts of both countries; a discussion on the implementation of IT technologies in criminal proceedings; and a visit to Minsk Holy Spirit Cathedral, the All Saints Memorial Complex, Memorial Complex “Khatyn”, and Ivanovshchina location, a mass execution site for civilians.

On June 9, 2026, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, as part of a delegation, visited State Memorial Complex “Khatyn”.

The visit included a detailed tour of the museum's exhibits and the memorial complex. The delegation was introduced to historical evidence of the tragedy, which enables contemporaries to better understand the scale of our ancestors' heroism and sacrifice.

"With deep sorrow and respect, I bow my head to the victims of Khatyn, whose memory is sacred to Russia and Belarus. The heroism of all the peoples of the Soviet Union who endured the inhuman trials of the Great Patriotic War and emerged victorious will be remembered in history. Our duty is to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again, and that Nazism is forever consigned to the past," wrote Igor Krasnov in the book of honored guests at Memorial Complex “Khatyn”.

After visiting the museum, guests laid flowers at the bronze sculpture "Unbowed Man" and at the Eternal Flame.

The final stop was the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The heads of the supreme courts of Belarus and Russia lit candles in memory of those who died during the war in Khatyn, on Belarusian land, and throughout the Soviet Union.

At the end of their visit to the complex, guests presented the museum with commemorative gifts. Igor Krasnov presented the staff with a book dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Andrei Shved presented the museum with the book "Belarus: Tragedy and the Truth of Memory: The Genocide of the Belarusian People During the Great Patriotic War."

Such meetings remind us that preserving memory is a sacred duty that must be passed down from generation to generation. We remember and have no right to forget.
