The event was organized by Belarusian Orthodox Church, the Ministry of Sport, the Commissioner for Religious and National Affairs, regional executive committees, and Minsk City Executive Committee.
The ceremonial completion of the bike ride took place on June 13, 2026 in Khatyn.
Guests were able to learn about the history of the memorial during excursions around the complex and the museum. A memorial service was held at the Eternal Flame for the repose of the innocent murdered. Then Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of Belarus Veniamin and Minister of Sports Sergei Kovalchuk addressed the audience. The latter noted that by organizing bike rides, we show the world that we need to remain a peace-loving country:
– It's better to express your emotions and feelings on sports fields. I wish us all peaceful skies, a clear sun shining above our heads, and that such terrible events never happen again in our country.
After the laying of flowers by representatives of all regions, a prayer was held in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
During the event, Dmitry Viltovsky, Director of SMC “Khatyn”, presented a book about Khatyn to Sergei Kovalchuk, Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, and Veniamin, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
