Vasily Sharangovich was born on January 14, 1939 in Kochany village, Myadel District, Minsk Region. Vasily Sharangovich is a People's Artist of Belarus, Honored Artist, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus, professor, and teacher. Over 30 years of work at Belarusian State Academy of Arts, he has trained a whole galaxy of talented students.
The exhibition will feature a series of lithographs by the Belarusian graphic artist "In Memory of the Fiery Villages". These lithographs are a kind of protest against the war. As an artist, Vasily Petrovich wanted to pay tribute to the memory of the tragedy experienced by the people.
As part of the exhibition, the museum will also show films about the life and work of Vasily Sharangovich. Visitors will be able not only to feel his works, but also to discover the unique story of the master, who has become a legend of Belarusian fine art. The title of the exhibition - "Ashes and Light" - is symbolic and reflects the artist's philosophical view of the world. His works often contain opposing images, such as destruction and rebirth, darkness and light, which makes the works of Vasily Sharangovich deep and multifaceted.
The works of Vasily Sharangovich are in the collections of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas Museums, the Ministry of Culture of Russia, Memorial Complex Khatyn, as well as in private collections in Italy, the USA and Germany.
The exhibition will be open to visitors from January 14 to February 13, 2025. Opening hours: 10:00 to 17:30, Tuesday through Sunday. Admission to the exhibition is free for all visitors.
