On July 3, 2024, we celebrate an important historical date - 80 years since the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. This day symbolizes the heroism and courage of our people who fought for freedom and independence.
The liberation of Belarus became possible thanks to the large-scale Operation “Bagration”, carried out by Soviet troops in the summer of 1944. This operation led to the complete liberation of the territory of Belarus from the occupiers and became one of the largest victories of the Red Army in the Great Patriotic War.
In honor of this significant date, a special emblem was created, designed by Sedich Alexander. It includes several important symbols, each with its own meaning:
The numbers "80" - denote the anniversary date - 80 years since the liberation of Belarus.
Inscription «ГАДОЎ ВЫЗВАЛЕННЯ БЕЛАРУСІ» (YEARS OF LIBERATION OF BELARUS) - indicates the significance of the event - the anniversary of the liberation of Belarus.
Map of Belarus - Symbolizes the territory of the country, emphasizing the importance of the liberation of the entire Belarusian land.
Monument “The Mound of Glory" is the central element of the emblem, depicting a memorial complex located in Smolevichi district, Minsk region. This monument is a symbol of memory and perpetuation of the feat of Soviet soldiers and partisans who fought for the liberation of Belarus.
National colors of Belarus - The red and green colors of the background of the emblem correspond to the national flag of Belarus, emphasizing the national significance of the event.
Gold edging - Gives the emblem a solemn and festive look, symbolizing the importance and significance of the anniversary date.
This emblem reminds of the heroism and courage of the people who fought for freedom and independence, and calls for preserving the memory of those events for future generations. Э
The liberation of Belarus was made possible not only by military action, but also by the support of the partisan movement. Partisans and underground fighters played a key role in the fight against the occupiers, carrying out sabotage, collecting intelligence and maintaining contact with the Soviet troops. Their contribution to the victory cannot be overestimated.
Today we honor the memory of all those who gave their lives for the freedom of Belarus. We remember those who survived the horrors of war and thank them for their courage and fortitude. The memory of the Great Patriotic War must live in our hearts and be passed on to future generations.
This year, numerous events are taking place across the country: memorial rallies, laying of wreaths at memorials, exhibitions and concerts. These events help us not to forget the importance of peace and freedom for which our ancestors fought.
